so, the first world cup went well for me this weekend. I think that the biggest accomplishment would have to be just being able to put together two competitive runs. This weekend there were 146 Pro starts that had to be whitled to 80 competitors for the main. After qualifying 73rd and seeing a bunch of my friends from the local scene not qualify I was just glad to make the show. I thought that my qualifying run was pretty good and safe. So for the final it was all or nothing for me and I managed to take 9 seconds off my time putting me in 55th over all. My goal for the week was top 50 so I think that I got pretty close. 10th american puts everything in perspective for the national champs comming up too. I would have to say that the best part about this world class competition would be all the amazing riders that you get to meet and ride with. They all make you realize how determined and focused you and your run needs to be in order to be competitve.
Anyways on the IL this week are a badly sprained ankle (that’s better now) and a bruised knee (that’s not) and there is a pic for Mom and Grandma.

we arrived late last night around 2 am ready to pass out in our condo here in canada. It looked as though I was going to have to sleep on the couch when I discovered a trundle bed. It turns out that Aussies, Kiwis, and Southern Californians do not know what these look like. None the less today was rather relaxing with a late trip to the crazy canadian grocery, followed up by a loop on the sweet world cup loop, and some trailer setup. The rest of the day was consumed by the television as it pissed with rain for the rest of the evening. Which leads me to now and its almost 10 pm and I am sitting outside with all the other racers that need to check thier email on the one bench in the area that gets wireless, but the air is fresh and thats a good thing. I’ll try to get some pics up soon. other than that, Canada is wierd, especially the French part (where i am)

a mechanical failure in my qualifying run did not allow me to qualify.
this pretty much sums it up

although, there were about 5-6 other top pros that did not qualify or DNF’ed in their race runs because of flats, broken wheels, etc… the track this weekend was just plain rough. AND really fun. a shout out goes out to chirs boice whom i saw being put on a backboard under the lift. rumor has it that he was released from the hospital same day but, heal up buddy!
