Fish tacos on the coast … pretty much the best!

Posted by TJ on February 13, 2007

just got back from Sharkee’s here in newport / costa mesa. and let me say that the “tuesday taco night” fish taco’s were amazing. fish on the coast in general is, of course, way better than in land locked colorado.

anyways, down to the knitty gritty. some pics

at the lookout pt on the san juan trl with Abby, Ariel, Steve

Today : Steve at the beach, Huntington beach to be precise

This one is for Fisher specifically, but for all you In’n'Out fans, we’re here

Hidden Valley trails, this is Pierre – he is french and we found him with no place to stay, so he was my roomate for a couple of days, he is on the adidas freeride team, and a fine dirtjumper, and commas are good

these are “sheep hills” today, before steve and i jumped them

this is also steve today ridding on the beach, notice it is empty because these warm weather people beleive it is too cold, take that Colorado

another one of the adidas team guys, good jumper (obviously)

out of order, but this is a pic of some of the other adidas team guys, mostly european, but all from different countrys, so it was quite the group of accents

moving on , back actually, to this past sunday racing at fontana in the rain

and after this very angry lady made us some very awesome sandwiches at the local delhi

steve is weak – jess is hulking

look at that mug, Juan Reynaldo

hidden valley : big jump, i have not hit said jump, steve has hit jump, steve goes far

Snow Slalom Invatational

Posted by TJ on January 21, 2007

This past week the snow has really gotten to me. So much so, that I’ve resorted to ridding at the local sledding hill. It seems as though the local children have grown weary of sledding for the past several weeks in a row. The hill is covered with packed snow 8 inches deep everywhere. Ski slope conditions by all means. Well today was the culmination of the boulder rider angst toward the snow. We gathered a large group of people to kick winter in the pants and show this snow who’s boss. Using small flags, turns were marked down the hill and the sliding was to begin.

First World Cup Finish

Posted by TJ on June 25, 2006

1 AUS19780301 KOVARIK Chris MS-INTENSE FACTORY-RACING TEAM 4:44.20
18 USA19861029 RIFFLE Duncan (First place American rider) 4:58.65
42 USA19851012 BANGERT Cole 5:08.42
55 USA19870515 SHARP Tim YETI FOX RACING FACTORY TEAM 5:15.84

so, the first world cup went well for me this weekend. I think that the biggest accomplishment would have to be just being able to put together two competitive runs. This weekend there were 146 Pro starts that had to be whitled to 80 competitors for the main. After qualifying 73rd and seeing a bunch of my friends from the local scene not qualify I was just glad to make the show. I thought that my qualifying run was pretty good and safe. So for the final it was all or nothing for me and I managed to take 9 seconds off my time putting me in 55th over all. My goal for the week was top 50 so I think that I got pretty close. 10th american puts everything in perspective for the national champs comming up too. I would have to say that the best part about this world class competition would be all the amazing riders that you get to meet and ride with. They all make you realize how determined and focused you and your run needs to be in order to be competitve.
Anyways on the IL this week are a badly sprained ankle (that’s better now) and a bruised knee (that’s not) and there is a pic for Mom and Grandma. :)
